Piston ring file instructions: Secure the tool to a workbench or vise using the included bracket, screw, and nut for stability. To file, place the piston ring on the guide plate against the tapered locators. Gently compress the ring ends against the cutting wheel. Rotate the handle in the arrow's direction to achieve a clean, parallel cut. This ensures precise ring end-gap clearance for engine assembly.

Instruction:

  • Secure the fastening bracket to the base of the filer, by means of the screw and nut supplied.
  • By using the bracket, the filer may be screwed to the work bench or can be held in a bench vise. This will support the tool while filing the piston ring.

  • Lay the ring on top of the guide plate and against the tapered locators. Compress the ring to force the ends lightly against the sides of the cutting wheel. Turn the handle in the direction indicated be the arrow to produce a clean parallel cut.
