Radiator test pressure

Radiator test pressure procedures require the Taiwan Calibre Universal Kit (CAC0002). First, carefully remove the radiator cap. Next, attach the correct expandable rubber adapter securely to the filler neck. Following this, connect the hand pump to the adapter. Then, depress the handle until the gauge reads 12-15 PSI. Consequently, if pressure drops, check for leaks. Finally, press the release valve to vent air safely before disconnecting.

Instructions:

  • Carefully undo and remove the radiator cap use a damp cloth or gloves and arm protection if the radiator cap is known to be hot.
  • Select the correct adaptor and configuration of the stationary seat accessories and ensure it is securely fitted to filler neck of the radiator or expansion tank.
  • Attach the "push-fit" connector onto the male tailpiece of the adaptor fitted to the radiator.
  • Depress the hand pump handle and check the reading indicated on the gauge.
  • Ideal readings should range between 12-15PSI. (check relevant manufacturer's workshop manual), if the pressure level is below the range, a leak in the radiator or hose is the source of the problem.
  • Once the test is complete, release the air pressure by pressing pressure release valve. Disconnect the quick coupler and adaptor assembly.
