In 1929, after a devastating fire damaged their plant, the company merged with another blade manufacturer — Great Neck Manufacturing.
By 1941, the company purchased a hand saw manufacturer and built a new factory in Mineola, New York, which remains an important operational base today.
During the 1970s, Samuel and his four sons expanded the company’s product range by acquiring several well-known brands, including Buck Bros. (a Massachusetts chisel manufacturer) and Mayes Brothers (a Tennessee-based measuring tool company).
